Applications: Steam, natural gas, water, and process liquids
Options: Designs compatible with single- or dual-chamber orifice fitting systems
2. Multi-Hole Orifice Plate
Thanks to their specially designed hole geometry, multi-hole orifice plates can contribute to obtaining a more stable differential pressure signal in certain applications involving low Reynolds numbers or disturbed flow profiles.
TLY Energy and Defense Industry Inc. offers application-specific designs by optimizing hole geometry to improve measurement repeatability and reduce flow-induced noise.
Advantages: Improved flow-profile conditioning, low signal noise, and application-dependent reduction in permanent pressure loss
Design: Custom engineered according to the project specification, verified calculation methods, and relevant flow measurement principles
3. Meter Run
Meter Run systems are measurement assemblies, particularly for pipelines of DN 50 and below, in which the orifice plate, pressure-tapping connections, and calculated straight pipe sections are integrated into a single measuring unit.
TLY Energy and Defense Industry Inc. manufactures high-accuracy Meter Run systems that incorporate the required straight pipe lengths into the measurement station.
Standards: ISO 5167-2 and ASME MFC-3M
Manufacturing: CNC machining, dimensional tolerance control, surface roughness measurement, and use of materials supplied with EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates
Applications: Natural gas, process gases, test systems, and laboratory applications
4. Flow Nozzle
Flow nozzles are differential-pressure-based primary measurement elements used for flow measurement under high-velocity, high-temperature, and high-pressure conditions.
Depending on the application, they may provide lower permanent pressure loss and a longer service life than orifice plates.
Standards: ISO 5167-3 and ASME MFC-3M
Types: ISA 1932 Nozzle, Long Radius Nozzle, and Venturi Nozzle
Applications: Steam, gas, and liquid pipelines
Advantages: Suitable for high velocity and pressure, stable measurement, and long service life
Measurement Performance: Accuracy and measurement uncertainty are determined according to product geometry, process conditions, installation, and calibration data
5. Wedge Flow Element
Wedge flow elements are differential-pressure-based elements suitable for measuring high-viscosity, particulate-laden, slurry, or contaminated fluids.
TLY Energy and Defense Industry Inc. manufactures wedge flow elements using materials with high resistance to wear and corrosion, selected according to process conditions.
Standard: Design based on ASME MFC-14M
Advantages: Low risk of blockage, low maintenance requirements, and operation over a wide Reynolds number range
Applications: Crude oil, slurry flows, viscous liquids, and wastewater systems
6. Pitot Tube
Pitot tubes determine dynamic pressure and flow velocity by using the difference between the static and total pressure of the fluid.
TLY Energy and Defense Industry Inc. provides design, installation, commissioning, and calibration services for single-point and averaging-area Pitot tubes.
Standards: ISO 3966 and ASME PTC 19.5
Applications: Air lines, flue-gas ducts, and large-diameter piping systems
Advantages: Low permanent pressure loss, easy installation, and cost-effective measurement
7. Venturi Tube
Venturi tubes are differential-pressure-based flow measurement elements used in applications requiring low permanent pressure loss and high measurement stability.
TLY Energy and Defense Industry Inc. designs Venturi tubes in accordance with the applicable requirements of ISO 5167-4 and ASME MFC-3M.
Types: Classical Venturi, Short Form Venturi, and Machined Venturi
Materials: Stainless steel, carbon steel, and project-specific alloys
Applications: Water, steam, gas, and chemical process lines
Advantages: Low permanent pressure loss, high process reliability, and long service life
8. Restriction Orifice
Restriction orifices are process elements used to limit flow rate or create a controlled pressure drop.
TLY Energy and Defense Industry Inc. designs single- or multi-stage models according to process parameters such as inlet and outlet pressure, fluid properties, temperature, noise, and cavitation risk.
Design: Based on project calculation criteria, process specifications, and ASME B31.3 piping requirements
Types: Single-stage and multi-stage restriction orifice systems
Applications: Pressure reduction, flow balancing, minimum-flow, bypass, and auxiliary line applications
9. Dual Chamber Orifice Fitting
Dual-chamber orifice fitting systems allow the orifice plate to be replaced while the process line remains pressurized, provided that appropriate operating and safety procedures are followed.
Depending on the process conditions, this design can reduce the need for line shutdowns or eliminate the requirement to take the line out of service during plate replacement.
Standards: API 14.3/AGA-3 and the relevant measurement principles of ISO 5167
Pressure Classes: ASME Class 150–2500, depending on the project and product model
Nominal Size Range: DN 50–DN 600, depending on the project and product model
Body Materials: Carbon steel, stainless steel, and project-specific alloys
Applications: Refineries, natural gas metering stations, petrochemical plants, and power stations
Main Advantages:
Replacement of the orifice plate without shutting down the process line
Shorter maintenance time and lower operating costs
Long-lasting sealing system
Design compliant with applicable product and project standards
